Kidd Video Flipside

The following is an article from the November 1986 issue of Teen Machine magazine.

It's All in the "Rist"!

Robbie is a "Whiz" on Kidd Video!

You might be used to waking up on Saturday mornings and chuckling over Robbie Rist's comic moves on Kidd Video while you're munching on your Rice Krispies. There's alot more to Robbie than being the top laugh-getter on one of the most successful Saturday morning shows. We know -- we talked to Robbie and found out all about his love for music, his other acting work and lots of other great stuff! Read on!

TM: You've worked a lot in the business, on The Brady Bunch, Lucas Tanner, in the movie Iron Eagle... all at a young age. How do you like working with more experienced actors?

ROBBIE RIST: My whole attitude about other actors is that they are just people. Some people who work at Jack-In-The-Box are nicer than others, same with actors. Lou Gossett is a wonderful guy. I hate that word. It sounds so show business. YUCK!

TM: What's your musical background?

RR: I played piano when I was five years old. I come from a real musical family. My parents were actually against me becoming an actor! My dad is a brilliant piano player and a great violin player -- an all-around genius. I didn't get really serious about music until I was 16 or 17. Now I write music and play whenever I get a chance. I don't want to be a lead singer type. I want to be a guitarist. That's my favorite thing in the whole world! If I could play for someone like Nick Lowe that would be heaven. I couldn't ask for anything more!
